1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using HeyMetadata (accessible at heymetadata.com), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use our website or services.

2. Description of Service

HeyMetadata provides a web-based, client-side utility designed to view and strip metadata (such as EXIF, IPTC, XMP, audio tags, document properties, and video user metadata) from digital files. The service operates locally within your web browser without uploading files to remote servers.

3. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree to use HeyMetadata solely for lawful purposes. You agree not to:

  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the web application scripts to compromise security or user safety.
  • Use the service in any manner that violates copyright laws, privacy regulations, or third-party intellectual property rights.
  • Use automated scripts or bots to overload or disrupt the web application infrastructure.

4. User Responsibilities & Verification

While HeyMetadata is engineered to thoroughly strip metadata fields, users remain responsible for inspecting and verifying cleaned files prior to publishing or distributing sensitive documents. We recommend using HeyMetadata's built-in metadata scanner to confirm that intended EXIF or location tags have been removed.

5. Intellectual Property Rights

All intellectual property rights in the HeyMetadata application including code, design, branding, logo mark, and visual interface are owned by HeyMetadata. You retain full ownership of any files you process using the application.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

HeyMetadata is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non infringement.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, HeyMetadata and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising out of or in connection with your use or inability to use the service.
