Every digital file you create contains hidden information metadata. Photos store exact GPS coordinates, camera model, shutter speed, and timestamp. PDFs and Office documents hold author names, corporate usernames, and revision histories. Audio and video files carry hardware encoding tags and embedded identifiers.

HeyMetadata provides a free, browser-based tool to view, inspect, report, and remove metadata from images, documents, video, and audio files. Removal remains the core workflow, while inspection lets you see what a file contains before you clean it.

Unlike conventional online tools that force you to upload files to a remote cloud server, HeyMetadata runs entirely in your browser using modern JavaScript and WebAssembly (WASM). Your original files stay strictly on your device.
